City Council approves taller buildings for downtown Saskatoon

“SASKATOON – A ‘big city’ skyline is in the making for Saskatoon.

On Monday, city council lifted a restriction that limited the height of downtown buildings to 76 meters.

Councillors also added a minimum height of 10 meters for all new buildings.

The change is part of the city centre plan, a revamp to downtown that is focused on creating higher density.

Ward 6 Councillor Charlie Clark said the lifted height restrictions may now be countered with developers having to meet other requirements.
